Il 16 agosto si festeggia San Rocco, patrono di Campodimele, il paese di mio padre in provincia di Latina. Dopo la messa, la processione e la banda itinerante, la sera il Santo viene salutato con i fuochi di rito. Spostare il punto di vista sulle persone vuol dire osservare chi non è festeggiato e vive di luce riflessa, quella sfavillante dei giochi pirotecnici. I Lampi intermittenti bloccano le figure sorprese in flash improvvisi, a metà tra la paura e lo stupore.

The 16th August people celebrate San Rocco, patron Saint of Campodimele, my father’s birthplace in the province of Latina. In the evening the Saint is greeted by the traditional fireworks. To change the focal point on the people means to observe who is not celebrated and lives of reflected light, the shining one of the fireworks. The intermittent Lightnings freeze the surprising figures by the sudden flash, between fear and surprise.
